A. Siepmann GmbH is specialised in the sector
of national and international transport of chemical products,
focussing on: finding reliable and environmentally compatible
solutions for transporting dangerous materials. In the course of 80
years of activity in this business sector we have attained very
varied, well-founded experience as a haulage company.
The chemical industry has been our partner
for more than 40 years.
Germany,
Belgium and the Netherlands form the main regions for our activities.
In addition, contracts are carried out throughout the European
Union.
Each year we handle approx. 330,000 tons of various chemical and
petrochemical materials, in many cases also in one-way transport. Of
these materials, more than 60 percent are dangerous goods in
accordance with the regulations on the carriage of dangerous goods by
road GGVSEB/ADR.

Our
modern truck fleet comprises of 60 towing vehicles with more than
80 trailers (1, 3 and 4 chamber stainless steel trailers,
rubber-lined trailers, tank containers, silo trailers) which we
maintain for our customers. Our vehicles are equipped with
compressors and pumps ("Haar",
"Almatec").
In detail, our truck fleet comprises of:
- 60 tractor trailers of which 40 are
Euro-class 5
- 65 tank trailers (chemical)
- 10 tank container-chassis
- 12 tank containers
- 3
silo trailers.
|
With a view to safety aspects, all new
vehicles which are purchased are equipped with lane guard assistance
systems and adaptive cruise control.
The
vast majority of our tank trailers are VA trailers, some of which are
equipped with vane-type pumps. Most of our trailers have filling
safety devices and ANA systems. Furthermore, we use rubber-lined
trailers, some of which are equipped with membrane pumps. The tank
containers are used for one-way transport and also for multimodal
operations.

In order to exclude endangering people and
the environment as much as possible, our quality management system includes
a number of tests. One of these is an annual inspection of all hose
lines in use. By these means, product discharges, which could
endanger people or the environment, can be prevented.
For further risk mitigation, three quarters of our tank trailers have
an emergency stop switch with which the driver can shut-off the base
valve at any time from outside the danger zone. All our vehicles have
been inspected and approved for the established classes of dangerous
goods (3, 6.1, 8 and 9).
